Man mistakenly mobbed to death<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): A 24-year-old man was mistakenly mobbed to death
\nby a group of hoodlums in front of a discotheque on Jl. Pangeran
\nTubagus Angke, West Jakarta, early yesterday morning.<\/p>\n
The victim was identified as Rohmat, a resident of Jl. Pesing
\nPoglar in Kedaung Kaliangke subdistrict, West Jakarta, his
\nbrother, Abdul Rahman, said.<\/p>\n
Rahman said that one of the hoodlums involved in a quarrel
\nwith Rohmat's friend, Erwin, later targeted Rohmat when his
\nfriend fled. The two were about to buy cigarettes in front of the
\ndiscotheque when they were attacked.<\/p>\n
\"The problem started when Erwin collided with the hoodlum, who
\ngot angry with Erwin. They were later involved in a heated
\nargument,\" Rahman told reporters at Cipto Mangunkusumo General
\nHospital.<\/p>\n
Rahman said that as soon as the hoodlum called his friends for
\nhelp about seven men, armed with small daggers, arrived there.
\nThey mobbed Rohmat but Erwin managed to escape.<\/p>\n
Rohmat, who was unmarried, was stabbed eight times and died
\ninstantly. A broken dagger was found at the scene.<\/p>\n
Rahman said officers from Tanjung Duren Police subprecinct
\nwere investigating the case.<\/p>\n
The body was sent to the general hospital for a postmortem
