Soekewi urged the North<br>\nJakarta District Court, yesterday, to sentence Ferdinand Sitompul<br>\nto five years imprisonment for allegedly raping a maid.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Your honor -- Ferdinand has, beyond any doubt, been found<br>\nguilty of raping and battering a maid,&quot; said Soekewi. She added<br>\nthat Sitompul deserved five years imprisonment.<\/p>\n<p>She said that the defendant, a 25-year old unemployed man,<br>\ntogether with his five friends -- Leonard Nainggolan, Turman<br>\nSilitonga, Liberti Nainggolan, Heri Maruli Siahaan and Tono --<br>\nhad raped a domestic helper, identified only as Ls., on Feb. 22<br>\nat 11 p.m. inside Budi Utama school building in Tanjung Priok,<br>\nNorth Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>In an earlier session, Ls. testified that on the night of Feb.<br>\n22, she and Binem, another domestic helper, left her employer&apos;s<br>\nhouse to buy some noodles at a food shop. On her way home,<br>\ndefendant Heri reportedly grabbed her and took her to a closed<br>\nfood stall in front of the school while Binem managed to escape.<\/p>\n<p>She said that other five defendants, including Ferdinand,<br>\nhelped Heri take her into an empty school building where the six<br>\ngang-raped the victim.<\/p>\n<p>According to the prosecutor, Mrs. Nurhayati, Ls&apos;s employer,<br>\nwoke up at 1 a.m. and got curious about the fact that one of her<br>\nmaids was missing. Reportedly, she then told Binem to accompany<br>\nher to find Ls.<\/p>\n<p>Nurhayati was said to have found the victim in bad condition<br>\noutside the school building and took her home. The next morning,<br>\nshe took her to the hospital for a medical examination.<\/p>\n<p>Nurhayati then reported the rape to the police and three days<br>\nlater Ferdinand, Leonard, Turman and Liberti were captured by<br>\npolice. Heri and Tono are still at large.<\/p>\n<p>Leonard, Turman and Liberti are being tried for the same crime<br>\nin separate trials.<\/p>\n<p>Ferdinand&apos;s trial was adjourned until next week.
