Man killed in Central Jakarta<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): Police have arrested three men for allegedly
\nbeating and stabbing a man to death and dumping his body in a
\nCentral Jakarta river.<\/p>\n
City Police Spokesman Lt. Col. E. Aritonang said residents
\nfound the body of Amir, 29, floating in the Ciliwung river in
\nSenen on Sunday night.<\/p>\n
Aritonang said Amir lived in Cengkareng, West Jakarta, but
\nfrequented Kenari market on Jl. Inspeksi and was known to police.<\/p>\n
The three men arrested were Api, 23, Dodi, 21, and Yance, 25,
\nall local residents. Police arrested them an hour after Amir's
\nbody was found.<\/p>\n
Police seized a piece of wood and a knife from the men, he
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Witnesses told police that Amir refused to pay the driver of a
\nmotorcycle taxi (ojek) and they had quarreled.<\/p>\n
Api, Dodi and Yance, who saw the incident, followed Amir when
\nhe walked off.<\/p>\n
Aritonang said a fight broke out after the three men warned
\nAmir not to \"operate\" in the area.<\/p>\n
One of the suspects allegedly beat the victim with the wood
\nwhile the other stabbed him. They then reportedly dumped the body
