A man identified as AH, 58, was found dead tied to a sandbag on the\nshore of Tanjung Busur Beach, Akar-Akar Village, Bayan District, North\nLombok, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). Police discovered two letters in his\ntrouser pocket written in the Sasak language.<\/p>\n
In the first letter, the victim wrote: \u2018Pacu-pacu tadah dek, ca HP\nkon kantong selanangku jari kenang kenanganku, ingat suruk Jowar mbait\nsampino.\u2019 (Take care, okay? That phone in my trouser pocket, keep it as\na memento from me. Remember to tell Jowar to take the cow.)<\/p>\n
The second letter contained a farewell message to his family,\nconfessing he had many burdens and asking them to look after themselves.\n\u2018Ijal suruk Jowar mbait sampini, aku lalo, bebanku luwek, jaga dirik,\ndik wah nakal,\u2019 he wrote. (Ijal, tell Jowar to take this cow, I am\nleaving, I have many burdens, take care of yourself, don\u2019t be\nnaughty.)<\/p>\n
After finding the letters, the family checked the victim\u2019s mobile\nphone. Initial police examination revealed numerous messages related to\nloan repayments and a history of online lottery gambling.<\/p>\n
\u2018Based on the facts discovered, including the contents of the\nvictim\u2019s phone, preliminary conclusions indicate the victim deliberately\nended his life due to economic pressure and psychological distress\ncaused by online gambling,\u2019 said Iptu I Komang Wilandra, Head of\nCriminal Investigation at Mataram Police.<\/p>\n
The victim was found with a blue nylon rope tied tightly around his\nwaist, connected to a shrimp feed sack filled with 25 kilograms of sand.\nThe discovery caused shock among local residents.
