A young man with initials IH, aged 25, died after being electrocuted\nwhilst bathing in the bathroom of his uncle\u2019s house in Kempo Village,\nDompu, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), on the evening of Wednesday, 11 March\n2026.<\/p>\n
\u201cBased on information from the victim\u2019s family, the victim had just\nfinished bathing and was about to retrieve a towel hanging on a\nclothesline in the bathroom area,\u201d said Iptu I Nyoman Suardika, Head of\nPublic Relations at Dompu Police Station, in a statement on Thursday, 12\nMarch 2026.<\/p>\n
According to Suardika, the victim\u2019s mother, who heard him fall,\nattempted to help but was herself electrocuted. She then called for\nassistance from nearby residents.<\/p>\n
Seeing what happened, the family and those present panicked as they\nwere unable to provide immediate assistance. Fortunately, the house\nowner promptly switched off the electrical supply, allowing the victim\nto be evacuated and taken to the health centre.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe victim was taken to Kempo Health Centre for medical treatment,\nbut according to medical staff, the victim was pronounced dead before\narriving at the health centre,\u201d explained Suardika.<\/p>\n
Kempo Police Substation conducted a crime scene investigation\ntogether with officers from PLN (State Electricity Company) SUP Branch\nOffice Kempo. The investigation revealed an active, severed electrical\ncable attached to the corrugated iron roof of the bathroom.<\/p>\n
\u201cAn active electrical cable was found severed but still carrying\ncurrent, lying on the corrugated iron roof of the bathroom.
