        "content": "<p>A 48-year-old man named Dominggus Tamelab deliberately beat his aunt,\nSelfasina Tamelab (65), until she lost consciousness before hanging her\nfrom a cashew tree, resulting in her death. The incident occurred on\nThursday, 28 May 2026, around 12:00 PM WITA in Dusun II, Timau Village,\nAmfoang Barat Laut Subdistrict, Kupang Regency, East Nusa Tenggara\n(NTT).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspect, in a fit of rage, struck the victim with a wooden stick\nuntil she fainted. He then dragged her to the back of the house and\nhanged her from a cashew tree,\u201d said Inspector Lalu Randy Hidayat, Head\nof Public Relations for Kupang Police Resort.<\/p>\n<p>Randy explained that the incident began when Dominggus was drying\nrice in his yard. After returning inside to collect more rice for\ndrying, Selfasina made a demand in a harsh tone, which provoked\nDominggus\u2019 anger.<\/p>\n<p>Dominggus then approached his aunt in her room and struck her with\nthe stick. He subsequently dragged her body to the back of the kitchen\nand beat her again across her body.<\/p>\n<p>Upon seeing Selfasina unconscious, Dominggus carried her under the\ncashew tree. He then retrieved a rope, tied it around her neck, and\nhanged her from the tree.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhile tying the rope around the victim\u2019s neck, the suspect realised\nshe was still alive,\u201d Randy added.<\/p>\n<p>According to Randy, after confirming his aunt\u2019s death, Dominggus\ninformed his wife, Aplonia Fomeni (54), that the victim had been found\nhanging behind the kitchen.<\/p>\n<p>His wife then instructed him to report the incident to Timau Village\nHead, Sony Tanesib. The case was subsequently reported to Amfoang Utara\nPolice Station.<\/p>\n<p>Following the report, police immediately proceeded to the scene to\nconduct a crime scene investigation. The Kupang Police Resort forensic\nteam also arrived to carry out identification procedures.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe suspect was apprehended on the spot after confessing to the\ncrime,\u201d Randy stated.<\/p>",
