Man arrested for theft at boss' home<\/p>\n
Police announced Monday that they have apprehended a man
\nbelieved to have burglarized the home of an Australian on
\nJl. Galuh, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.<\/p>\n
The suspect, 18-year old Riyanto, is a former employee of the
\nvictim, said City Police spokesman Lt. Col. Latief Rabar.<\/p>\n
Latief said Riyanto, a resident of Jl. Senopati, South
\nJakarta, was apprehended by the police on Sunday on Jl. Kwitang,
\nCentral Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Riyanto along with a friend named Rohman committed the crime
\nat 8 a.m. on July 15, 1994, while Martin Queen was at work and
\nthe maid shopping at the local market. Rohman is still at large.<\/p>\n
The house was empty except for a watchman, Dulatief, and a
\ndog.<\/p>\n
Using deceptive techniques and armed with a sharp object,
\nRiyanto was able to subdue Dulatief and then lock him and the dog
\ninside a room.<\/p>\n
Taking a Bluebird taxi Riyanto then made-off with an
\nassortment of stolen property including a TV, tape recorder and
\naudio speakers.<\/p>\n
Riyanto then sold the goods at Kranji, Pondok Gede, East
\nJakarta.<\/p>\n
According to Latief the suspect told investigators that he
\ncommitted the crime because he was unhappy with Queen who sacked
