Jakarta \u2013 Police have apprehended RM (25), the perpetrator in the\nfatal stabbing of minibus driver AFN (26) in Cilincing, North Jakarta,\non Thursday evening, 12 March 2026.<\/p>\n
Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto, Head of Public Relations for Metro Jaya\nPolice, stated that RM was arrested the following day, Friday, 13 March\n2026, in the warehouse district of Cakung, East Jakarta. At the time of\narrest, the suspect was hiding inside a container truck.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe suspect was successfully apprehended on Friday at approximately\n07.30 WIB in the Cakung area,\u201d Budi told Kompas.com on Monday, 16 March\n2026.<\/p>\n
According to the account, RM had initially intended only to\nremonstrate with the victim. However, the quarrel between the two\nescalated, ultimately resulting in RM stabbing AFN.<\/p>\n
\u201cRM, who had prepared a sickle, recklessly slashed the victim,\u201d Budi\nexplained.<\/p>\n
RM is currently detained at Metro Jaya Police Detention Centre. He\nhas been charged under Article 458(1) of the Criminal Code concerning\nmurder and Article 466(3) of the Criminal Code concerning assault\nresulting in death, each carrying a maximum prison sentence of 15\nyears.<\/p>\n
The incident occurred in the Sukapura area of Cilincing, North\nJakarta, when the minibus driver was stabbed. Video footage shared on\nInstagram account @wargajakarta.id<\/span> documented the\nvictim collapsed on the street and was attended to by nearby\nresidents.<\/p>\n AFN was subsequently evacuated to the roadside by residents owing to\nongoing traffic. Bobi Subasri, Head of Cilincing Police Precinct,\nconfirmed that the incident was triggered by a quarrel between the\nvictim and perpetrator.<\/p>\n \u201cEssentially, the victim and perpetrator had a heated argument,\nwhereupon the perpetrator immediately stabbed the victim,\u201d Bobi told\nKompas.com on Friday, 13 March 2026.<\/p>",
