A video showed a man accidentally pressing an emergency or SOS\nbutton, causing panic among passengers on the Bogor\u2013Jakarta electric\ncommuter train, known as the Red Line. Staff went to the scene to deal\nwith the incident.<\/p>\n
In the video seen by detikcom, an SOS signal can be heard after the\nbutton is pressed. The incident occurred on Thursday morning, 22 October\n2026, while the train was at Citayam Station.<\/p>\n
\u201c We can confirm that the incident was caused by a passenger\naccidentally pressing the emergency button while looking for something\nto hold on to aboard Commuter Line train No.\u00a01219, on the Bogor\u2013Jakarta\nKota route,\u201d KAI Commuter public relations manager Leza Arlan said in a\nstatement on Thursday (22 October 2026).<\/p>\n
In response, railway security staff immediately went to the fifth\ncarriage to inspect it. They confirmed that the SOS alarm did not\nindicate an emergency.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen the train arrived at Jakarta Kota Station, rolling-stock\nmaintenance staff followed up by switching off the alarm,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
KAI Commuter said its onboard staff had followed emergency-response\nprocedures after the SOS alarm was activated, responding promptly,\nverifying and checking the situation, and resetting the alarm.<\/p>\n
The company also urged passengers to take care around service and\nemergency facilities and to use them only when needed.<\/p>\n
