        "content": "<p>Yasinta Moiwend, popularly known as Mama Sinta, an indigenous female\nleader of the Marind-Anim tribe in Merauke, has submitted a request for\nprotection to the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK). The\napplication was filed directly by Mama Sinta on Friday (5\/6) and was\nreceived by the Vice Chairperson of LPSK, Sri Suparyati.<\/p>\n<p>In an official statement, Sri explained that the protection request\nwas filed in relation to a report made to the Metro Jaya Regional Police\nregarding the distribution of the documentary film \u2018Pesta Babi\u2019 (Pig\nFeast), which is deemed to impact her personal safety. Sri stated that\nMama Sinta\u2019s request will undergo a thorough review, ranging from the\nreported criminal incidents to the potential protection needs arising\nfrom her involvement in the legal process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur duty is to conduct an objective assessment to determine the\nnecessary protection, whether in the form of physical protection,\npsychological assistance, procedural accompaniment, or other services\nwithin the LPSK\u2019s authority,\u201d she stated in a written release. She noted\nthat the LPSK will begin an initial assessment and interview Mama Sinta\nto deepen the understanding of the requested protection needs, which is\na mandatory stage before the agency makes a decision.<\/p>\n<p>The results of the assessment and review will serve as the basis for\nthe LPSK to determine appropriate protection services in accordance with\nprevailing laws and regulations. Under the Witness and Victim Protection\nAct, protection is granted based on the significance of the testimony,\nanalysis of threat levels or special situations, and medical or\npsychological assessments.<\/p>\n<p>Previously, Yasinta Moiwend reported the Chairperson of the Papua\nMerauke Legal Aid Institute (LBH), identified by the initials JTW, to\nthe Metro Jaya Regional Police regarding the film \u2018Pesta Babi:\nColonialism in Our Time\u2019. The report is registered under number\nLP\/B\/3843\/V\/2026\/SPKT\/Polda Metro Jaya, dated 29 May 2026, involving\nallegations related to Articles 65 and 67 concerning Personal Data\nProtection.<\/p>\n<p>Mama Sinta expressed deep distress over the screening of the film,\nwhich features her, stating that no permission was sought from her.\n\u201cThey are screening \u2018Pesta Babi\u2019 everywhere; I am deeply hurt and\ndisappointed. Without my permission, without any discussion. They are\ncriminals,\u201d Mama Sinta explained. \u201cMy face is being shown everywhere in\nthat film; it hurts me. That is why I have come to Jakarta.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Dhandhy Laksono, a producer of the film, addressed the\nopposition from Mama Sinta\u2019s side via an Instagram post, claiming he was\nentirely unaware of the issues Mama Sinta was facing regarding the\nproduction of the film.<\/p>",
