Malls offer everything for everyone<\/p>\n
Modernization has changed people's lifestyles in large cities all
\nover the world, including Jakarta. When in the past people would
\nspend their free time at parks or public places, nowadays people
\nflock to the malls scattered around the city.<\/p>\n
Mallgoers have different reasons for visiting them. Mothers go
\nshopping, fathers view an exhibition of the latest cell phones or
\ncars while kids want to pass the time in the playing arena.
\nTeenagers also have their own favorite hangout places, such as
\ncafes, movie theaters or even the ice skating rink.<\/p>\n
However, the existence of many malls in Jakarta is apparently
\nstill not enough for the city's 10 million residents. Another six
\nmalls are under construction to fulfill the demand for these
\nplaces of recreation.<\/p>\n
Despite criticism that more malls will encourage people to be
\nconsumption-oriented, malls cannot be separated from Jakartans'
\nlifestyle.<\/p>",
