PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI Daerah Operasi 6 Yogyakarta\nis advising train passengers to arrive earlier at stations, especially\nYogyakarta Station, to anticipate sterilisation and road traffic\ndiversions due to the 80th anniversary parade of the Yogyakarta Palace\nKing Sri Sultan HB X on Thursday, 2 April 2026.<\/p>\n
The parade will impact traffic diversions, mainly in the Malioboro\narea and surroundings, from 06:00 to 12:00 WIB, involving around 13,218\nparticipants from 438 villages across DIY.<\/p>\n
Manager of Public Relations for KAI Daop 6 Yogyakarta, Feni Novida\nSaragih, stated that KAI has sent SMS and WhatsApp blasts to customers\naccording to the departure manifest for 2 April 2026.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe advisory messages contain information urging arrival earlier at\nthe station so that the journey remains smooth and safe,\u201d she said on\nWednesday, 1 April 2026.<\/p>\n
Feni advised all customers departing, especially from Yogyakarta\nStation, to estimate travel time to the station and arrive earlier. \u201cTo\navoid getting caught in traffic congestion and missing the train,\u201d she\nsaid.<\/p>\n
Despite the major event in the Malioboro area to the Yogyakarta\nPalace, Feni assured that train operations will continue normally\naccording to schedule.<\/p>\n
\u201cWith this advisory, it is hoped that the public and customers can\nparticipate in maintaining smooth mobility and still travel by train\ncomfortably,\u201d said Feni.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the General Chairman of the Paguyuban Lurah and Pamong\nKalurahan Nayantaka DIY, Gandang Hardjanata, estimated that the crowd at\nthe event would be around 10,000 to 12,000 people. \u201cThe plan is for each\nvillage to send 20-30 representatives,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
In the parade titled Mangayubagya 80 Tahun Yuswo Dalem Sri Sultan\nHamengku Buwono X, it is scheduled to start at 07:30 WIB. Village heads\nand officials will wear traditional Javanese attire typical of\nYogyakarta, while the general public who wish to join can wear\nbatik.<\/p>\n
One of the main elements in this parade is the presentation of the\nGelondong Pangarem-arem, consisting of agricultural produce that\nreflects the potential of each village in DIY.<\/p>\n
The Head of the DIY Transportation Department, Chrestina Erni\nWidyastuti, stated that the road closures will be from the northern side\nof Teteg Malioboro to the southern area.<\/p>\n
These closures also include side roads leading towards Malioboro\nbecause thousands of people are expected to walk to the assembly point\nat Kilometre Zero and the Yogyakarta Palace. \u201cSide roads towards the\nPalace will also be temporarily closed,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
Technically, vehicles from the north heading to Jalan Malioboro will\nbe fully diverted.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, traffic from the west at Simpang PKU will be diverted to\nJalan Bhayangkara. From the east, closures will be at Simpang Empat\nGondomanan leading to Jalan Panembahan Senopati, including access from\nKilometre Zero to the west towards RS PKU Muhammadiyah.<\/p>\n
Engineering also targets Simpang Empat Kauman leading east. These\nclosures are scheduled from the morning until around 12:00 WIB or until\nthe event concludes.<\/p>\n
To avoid vehicle build-up for participants, the committee has divided\nparking pockets based on origin areas. VIP guest parking is centralised\nat Keben Keraton. Participants from Yogyakarta City are directed to\nspecial parking areas (TKP) at Sriwedani and Pasar Sore, while those\nfrom Sleman Regency are at the DIY DPRD building and Jalan\nPerwakilan.<\/p>\n
For participants from Bantul Regency, parking is provided at TKP\nSenopati. Participants from Gunungkidul Regency will occupy the\nKepatihan area and Jalan Suryatmajan, while groups from Kulon Progo\nRegency are provided space at Jalan Ahmad Dahlan.<\/p>\n
