        "content": "<p>Malaysian singer deported<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA: Immigration authorities here deported Malaysian<br>\nsinger Mukhtaruddin, popularly known as Ashraff, on Sunday to his<br>\nhome country.<\/p>\n<p>He was deported after being found guilty by the Bogor District<br>\nCourt for assaulting a local member of his staff. The deportation<br>\nwas based on Article 42 of the Immigration Law No.9\/1992, which<br>\nstipulates that any foreigner that is found guilty by an<br>\nIndonesian court will be charged with immigration sanctions and<br>\ndeported.<\/p>\n<p>\"He's banned from entering the country for the next six<br>\nmonths,\" said the immigration spokesman, Ade Dahlan.<\/p>\n<p>Ashraff was also deported on Oct. 20, 2001 for overstaying his<br>\nvisa. --JP<\/p>",
