        "content": "<p>Malaysian parties form alliance<\/p>\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR (Xinhua): Three opposition parties in Sarawak,<br>\nEast Malaysia, agreed to form a coalition to deny a clean sweep<br>\nby the ruling Barisan Nasional (BN) (National Front) in the<br>\ncoming general elections in the state.<\/p>\n<p>National parties -- Parti Keadilan Nasional (Keadilan)<br>\n(National Justice Party), Democratic Action Party (DAP) and<br>\nSarawak-based State Reform Party (STAR) -- reached the agreement<br>\nat their first meeting held in Sarawak Saturday, according to a<br>\nstatement issued on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>They have decided to establish a top-level selection committee<br>\nto determine the allocation of seats, the statement issued<br>\njointly by DAP Sarawak Chairman Wong Sing Nang, Sarawak Keadilan<br>\nChief Yusuf Abdul Rahman and STAR President Patau Rubis said.<\/p>\n<p>The committee will only choose candidates able to deliver the<br>\nseats irrespective of which party they represent, the statement<br>\nsaid, adding the opposition front will also form a media<br>\nsecretariat which will be manned by representatives from the<br>\nthree parties to issue all press statements.<\/p>",
