        "content": "<p>Kuala Lumpur \u2014 Malaysia\u2019s Minister of Communications Fahmi Fadzil has\nstated that the Malaysian government is reviewing the implementation of\nwork-from-home (WFH) for the public sector and government employees as\nan efficiency measure amid global geopolitical conditions.<\/p>\n<p>Fahmi, speaking in Kuala Lumpur on Saturday and serving as the\ngovernment spokesperson, announced that Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim has\nrequested relevant parties review the policy.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Prime Minister has requested the WFH proposal be examined to\nalign with the public sector,\u201d said Fahmi.<\/p>\n<p>As previously reported, Malaysia is also implementing a state\nspending reduction policy to anticipate the impacts of geopolitical\ndevelopments on the country.<\/p>\n<p>These savings include eliminating Eid open houses (open house\nreceptions) by ministries, government agencies, and Government-Linked\nCompanies (GLCs), as well as restricting overseas visits by cabinet\nmembers.<\/p>\n<p>However, Anwar stated that his government would maintain the price of\nRON 95 fuel at 1.99 ringgit (approximately Rp8,584) per litre amid\nrising global oil prices.<\/p>\n<p>Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim stated that his government would\ncontinue to closely monitor developments in global conflicts and take\nadditional measures to ensure the country\u2019s economic stability remains\nprotected and safeguard public welfare.<\/p>",
