        "content": "<p>Malaysia to accept bids for radar<\/p>\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR (Reuter): Malaysia will start accepting bids for<br>\na second mobile radar at Kuala Lumpur's Subang international<br>\nairport by the end of the month, Transport Minister Datuk Ling<br>\nLiong Sik said yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>Ling said the bidding would be restricted to five foreign<br>\ncompanies, one each from France, Italy, South Africa, Britain and<br>\nthe United States.<\/p>\n<p>Bidding would open in a week to 10 days, as soon as the<br>\ntransport ministry received specifications for the radar, the<br>\nnational news agency Bernama reported on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>A fire at Subang knocked out the key airport radar on August<br>\n13 last year causing weeks of flight disruptions and two near<br>\ncollisions at the airport.<\/p>\n<p>The South African mobile radar was flown to Kuala Lumpur and<br>\ninstalled some two weeks after the fire.<\/p>",
