        "content": "<p>The Malaysian government has declared that 1 Ramadan 1447 Hijriah\nfalls on Thursday, 19 February 2026. The Keeper of the Rulers\u2019 Great\nSeal, Tan Sri Syed Danial Syed Ahmad, said Muslims in Malaysia would\nbegin fasting the day after tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>As reported by the Bernama news agency on Tuesday (17\/2\/2026), Syed\nDanial stated that the date for the commencement of fasting for the main\nstates across Malaysia was determined on the order of the Yang Dipertuan\nAgong Sultan Ibrahim, following approval by Their Majesties the Kings\nand Queens.<\/p>\n<p>The announcement was broadcast live on Radio Television Malaysia\n(RTM) this evening.<\/p>\n<p>On 12 February, the Office of the Keeper of the Rulers\u2019 Great Seal,\nthrough a statement, designated today \u2014 coinciding with 29 Sha\u2019ban 1447\nHijriah \u2014 for the sighting of the Ramadan crescent moon, in order to\ndetermine the start of fasting for Muslims in Malaysia.<\/p>\n<p>The Ramadan crescent moon observation process this evening involved\n29 locations across Malaysia, including Baitul Hilal Bangunan Sultan\nIsmail in Pontian, Johor; the Al-Khawarizmi Astronomy Complex at Kampung\nBalik Batu, Tanjung Bidara in Melaka; the Kuala Lumpur Tower; and the\nPutrajaya International Convention Centre.<\/p>\n<p>Crescent moon observations were also carried out at the Baitul Hilal\nTelok Kemang Complex in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, as well as Bukit\nMelawati in Kuala Selangor, Bukit Jugra in Banting, Kuala Langat, and\nthe Selangor Observatory in Sabak Bernam, Selangor.<\/p>",
