        "content": "<p>Kuala Lumpur (ANTARA) - Malaysia\u2019s Immigration Directorate has\nextended the Migrant Repatriation Programme (PRM) 2.0 \u2014 a voluntary\nrepatriation programme for illegal migrant workers \u2014 for one year until\n31 May 2027.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Malaysian Immigration Department wishes to inform that the\ngovernment has decided to extend the implementation of the Migrant\nRepatriation Programme 2.0, which ends today, 30 April 2026, from 1 May\n2026 until 31 May 2027,\u201d said the Head of the Malaysian Immigration\nDirectorate, Zakaria Bin Shaaban, in Kuala Lumpur on Thursday\n(30\/4).<\/p>\n<p>The decision was taken based on an evaluation of the programme\u2019s\neffectiveness.<\/p>\n<p>From 19 May 2025 to 29 April 2026, the programme has recorded 254,186\nregistrations from illegal migrants from 112 countries, with total fine\ncollections reaching 127 million ringgit (approximately Rp554\nbillion).<\/p>\n<p>The programme allows undocumented foreigners (PATI) to return home\nvoluntarily without legal prosecution, on the condition of paying fines\naccording to the type of violation.<\/p>\n<p>Fines imposed include 500 ringgit for violations of entry or stay\nwithout valid documents, and 300 ringgit for residence permit\nviolations. In addition, applicants are charged a special pass fee of 20\nringgit (approximately Rp87,000).<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, authorities will tighten law enforcement through\nintegrated operations, intelligence, and monitoring to take action\nagainst violators, including employers involved.<\/p>\n<p>Undocumented foreigners are urged to take advantage of the programme\nimmediately before legal action is taken.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Malaysian Immigration Department remains committed to ensuring\nthat the country\u2019s migration management is carried out firmly, orderly,\nand with integrity,\u201d said Zakaria.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur (KBRI) encourages\nIndonesian citizens and migrant workers (PMI) who are undocumented to\nparticipate in the programme.<\/p>\n<p>KBRI Kuala Lumpur also states that it is ready to facilitate\nimmigration document processing for PMI who wish to return to\nIndonesia.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, KBRI urges PMI to always comply with legal provisions in\nMalaysia to avoid future problems.<\/p>",
