        "content": "<p>Malaria outbreak feared in Penang<\/p>\n<p>KUALA LUMPUR (AFP): Twenty-two people, including 19 Indonesian<br>\nconstruction workers, have been hospitalized with malaria in the<br>\nMalaysian state of Penang, one of the country's most popular<br>\ntourist areas, a report said on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>But a local health officer played down fears of a wider<br>\noutbreak and said that the situation was under control and was<br>\ncontained in a residential area in the northern state.<\/p>\n<p>The Sun newspaper reported that a local farmer was the first<br>\ncasualty a week ago. The 19 Indonesians and two locals, including<br>\na seven-year-old boy, have been hospitalized since Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Authorities have initiated preventive measures including<br>\nfumigation, residual spraying and blood screening in the township<br>\nwhere the victims live.<\/p>",
