        "content": "<p>The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has designated two\nindividuals as suspects in the alleged corruption case concerning the\ndetermination of quotas and the organisation of Hajj worship by the\nMinistry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) for 2023-2024. KPK Deputy for\nEnforcement and Execution Asep Guntur Rahayu announced the two new\nsuspects during a press conference on Monday (30\/3) evening: Operational\nDirector of PT Makassar Toraja (Maktour) Ismail Adham (ISM) and Chairman\nof Asosiasi Kesthuri, who is also Commissioner of PT Raudah Eksati\nUtama, Asrul Azis Taba (ASR). \u201cSuspects ISM and ASR are charged with\nviolating Article 2 paragraph (1) and or Article 3 of Law No.\u00a031 of 1999\njo. Article 18 of Law No.\u00a031 of 1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts\nof Corruption as amended by Law No.\u00a020 of 2001 on Amendments to Law\nNo.\u00a031 of 1999 on the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption jo.\nArticle 55 paragraph (1) first of the Criminal Code,\u201d said Asep. \u201cOr as\nreferred to in Article 603 or Article 604 of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the\nCriminal Code jo. Article 20 letter (c) of Law Number 1 of 2023 on the\nCriminal Code,\u201d he added. The number of suspects in this case is now\nfour. Previously, in this case, the KPK had named former Minister of\nReligious Affairs Yaqut Cholil Qoumas as a suspect. Subsequently, former\nspecial staff to the Minister of Religious Affairs (Menag) during\nYaqut\u2019s era, Ishfah Abidal Aziz alias Gus Alex, was also designated as a\nsuspect. The alleged Hajj quota corruption case began to be investigated\nby the KPK on 9 August 2025, related to the management of Indonesia\u2019s\nHajj quota for the 2023-2024 period. On 11 August 2025, the KPK revealed\nan initial estimate of state losses in this case exceeding Rp1 trillion,\nwhile also preventing three individuals from travelling abroad for six\nmonths. The KPK has received the results of an audit by the Supreme\nAudit Agency (BPK) RI on 27 February 2026, announced on 4 March 2026,\nwith state losses amounting to Rp622 billion.<\/p>",
