Makassar Mayor Munafri Arifuddin stressed\nthat the public is still given space to proclaim takbir as a form of\ngratitude and joy in welcoming the day of victory. However, its\nimplementation is directed to take place at the district, sub-district,\nand local mosque levels. \u201cWe urge Takbiran in each neighbourhood at the\ndistrict level, not circling the main roads. This is a step to maintain\norder, security, and public comfort,\u201d said Munafri. The Makassar City\nGovernment emphasised that no permits will be issued for roaming takbir\nor vehicle parades on public roads this year. This policy considers the\ncontinuously increasing vehicle volume in Makassar City, so convoy\nactivities have the potential to disrupt traffic flow and endanger\nsafety. \u201cTakbir is allowed, either in respective areas, at the district\nor sub-district level, or in local mosque environments. Of course, there\nare limitations, without vehicle convoys on public roads, let alone\nfirecrackers or explosives,\u201d Munafri asserted firmly. We ask that Takbiran be conducted within the scope of respective\ndistricts and at local mosques,\u201d Munafri stated. To ensure this appeal\nruns smoothly, the Makassar City Government involves district heads,\nsub-district heads, neighbourhood associations, and community leaders in\noverseeing the implementation of Takbiran.
