Jakarta (ANTARA) — PT Makna Angan Karya Andanu (MAKA), the parent
company of F&B brands such as Toodz House, Toko Kopi Tuku, Beragam,
Futago, SUKA, toho Cafe, PT Pangan Adil Sehat, Sop Sapi Minarwati, and
SORE, has won the Gold Award at the People Matters Infini-T Awards
Southeast Asia 2026, held at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. The award is
given to organisations deemed successful in driving Human Resources (HR)
transformation through innovation, technology, and sustainable
practices. MAKA triumphed in the category of Integration of
Sustainability Practices in HR Transformation, outperforming various
regional companies that participated.

Since its establishment in 2017, MAKA has been committed to building
more responsible ways of working towards people and the environment. As
the company grew, MAKA realised that internal processes needed to evolve
to become more sustainable, inclusive, and consistent. In the last three
years, MAKA has carried out a series of strategic initiatives to
strengthen its HR foundation alongside the company’s growth.

This transformation began with the digitalisation of HR processes,
enabling MAKA to reduce paper usage by more than 60% through the
implementation of e-contracts, e-payslips, and digital workflows. This
step not only increased efficiency but also significantly lowered the
company’s environmental footprint.

At the same time, MAKA expanded inclusive recruitment practices by
opening job opportunities to deaf friends and other disability groups.
This approach extends beyond recruitment to include workplace
adjustments and training so that every individual can develop optimally.
Employee wellbeing programmes were also strengthened through mental
health support, flexible working policies, and various initiatives that
place work-life balance as part of the company’s values. These efforts
have resulted in high participation rates and increased employee
satisfaction.

In addition, MAKA continues to expand its social contributions
through upstream and downstream community initiatives. Programmes such
as developing young farmers, a pilot coffee garden in Kenawat Village,
Central Aceh Regency, and inclusive barista training are part of MAKA’s
commitment to building an ecosystem that grows together with
society.

To ensure all these efforts are measurable and sustainable, MAKA has
also strengthened ESG governance by establishing a dedicated department
responsible for the company’s sustainability strategy. Through
environmental programmes like Bersemi, MAKA has begun integrating
circular economy principles and emission reductions into daily
operations. “We are very grateful to receive this award. For us, it is
not just an achievement, but a reflection of our learning journey in
growing responsibly,” said Amelia Dessita, VP of Human Resource &
General Affairs at MAKA, who received the award in Singapore on 27 March
2026.

According to Amelia, the award serves as a reminder that building a
sustainable company is a long-term process. “There is still much we need
to improve. However, we are proud of the small steps we have taken
consistently, and we thank the entire MAKA team and the community that
has been part of this journey,” she concluded.

The Infini-T Awards is a recognition event that evaluates
organisations based on innovation, impact, user experience, stakeholder
engagement, and learning from challenges. This year, MAKA became one of
the Indonesian companies to successfully bring home a major award. With
more than 1,500 employees and a presence in various cities in Indonesia
and the Netherlands, MAKA continues to strengthen its commitment to
delivering more humane, inclusive, and sustainable HR practices — in
line with the company’s vision of building an F&B ecosystem that
grows with good intentions and delivers positive impact for society.
",
