        "content": "<p>Coordinating Minister for the Economy, Airlangga Hartarto, has\nassured that the government is continuously strengthening national\nfiscal resilience amid global dynamics, including anticipating rises in\nenergy prices.<\/p>\n<p>Following a meeting with President Prabowo Subianto on Thursday, 19\nMarch 2026, Airlangga explained that the President has emphasised the\nimportance of keeping the APBN deficit below 3 percent, so the\ngovernment will implement efficiency measures across various Ministries\nand Agencies (K\/L).<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are maintaining the APBN so that the deficit remains below 3\npercent and in line with the directives from the Full Cabinet Plenary\nSession, which has been discussed with technical ministries. This is\nachieved through efficiencies from various K\/L. And with these\nefficiencies from various K\/L, the 3 percent deficit can be maintained,\u201d\nsaid Airlangga in his statement on Thursday, 19 March 2026.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the government is preparing anticipatory measures\nagainst the impact of rising fuel prices and other commodities. One\neffort to be undertaken is increasing the volume of coal production.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe President has also requested that the volume of coal production\nbe increased. This means there will be improvements related to the RKAB\n(Work Plan and Budget),\u201d stated Airlangga.<\/p>\n<p>Furthermore, the government is reviewing policy adjustments related\nto coal export taxes to boost state revenues, in line with the upward\ntrend in commodity prices.<\/p>\n<p>In the energy sector, the government is also promoting the\nacceleration of converting diesel power plants (PLTD) to solar power\nplants (PLTS) as an efficiency measure amid high oil prices. This\nmandate has been given to the Danantara Investment Management Agency for\nimmediate follow-up.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the government is examining work flexibility policies\nthrough a one-day work-from-home (WFH) scheme in every five working\ndays. This policy is expected to reduce fuel consumption by up to 20\npercent from normal levels through reduced mobility.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere will be savings in terms of mobility usage; the petrol savings\nare quite significant, one-fifth of what we normally spend,\u201d said\nAirlangga.<\/p>\n<p>He added that the WFH scheme will not only apply to civil servants\n(ASN) but is also hoped to be adopted by the private sector and local\ngovernments.
