Main suspect in prosecutor's murder gives police the slip<\/p>\n

Central Sulawesi provincial police are scouring the city for the
\nprime suspect in the killing of prosecutor Ferry Silalahi, after
\na police raid on his hideout in Poso failed to capture him on
\nThursday.<\/p>\n
Ferry Silalahi, a prosecutor handling terrorism cases in the
\nprovincial capital of Palu, was shot on May 26 in his car by four
\ngunmen on two motorcycles after attending an evening prayer
\nservice with his wife. She survived the attack.<\/p>\n
Central Sulawesi Police chief Brig. Gen. Taufik Ridho said on
\nFriday afternoon police raided a house in Poso on Thursday night
\nbut the suspect had already fled.<\/p>\n
Taufik said investigators believed the suspect had not yet
\nleft Poso. \"We are aware of his (general) hiding place and have
\ndeployed a group of our detectives to observe the area,\" he said.<\/p>\n
Police have set up checkpoints on the roads exiting Poso in
\nthe latest attempt to bring him into custody. Taufik said police
\nhad increased their presence at several city guard posts and
\nprovided officers with sketches of the suspect.<\/p>\n
Also in Palu, police bomb disposal officers sealed off three
\nBank Mandiri branch offices here on Friday morning after a
\nmanager received bomb threats on his cellphone. Police said they
\nbelieved the threats were a hoax.<\/p>\n
The text message said bombs had been placed at the Jl. Sam
\nRatulangi and Jl. Hasanuddin branches in East Palu and on Jl.
\nImam Bonjol in West Palu.<\/p>\n
Bank Mandiri Palu branch manager Kusnan Sutisna said when he
\nturned on his cellphone at about 6 a.m. local time, he read a
\ntext message telling him the banks would be bombed at 10:30 a.m.
\nThe message had been sent at about 2:50 a.m. Kusnan then called
\nthe police.<\/p>\n
Palu Police Chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Noman Siswandi said it was
\npossible the bomb threat could have been connected to a group of
\ninvestors whose loan request had been denied by Bank Mandiri.<\/p>\n
Investigators suspect that the group felt the bank had been
\npartial in disbursing loans and had resorted to the threats in
\nretaliation.<\/p>",
