Mails stuck in Denpasar<\/p>\n
KUPANG, East Nusa Tenggara: The local branch of PT Pos
\nIndonesia, the state-owned post office, has decided to charter a
\nspecial plane to transport approximately half a ton of mail for
\ndelivery to the province which has been piling up in Denpasar.<\/p>\n
Tenan P. Widodo, who heads the branch office, said he was
\nforced to charter the plane because the state carrier Merpati
\nNusantara, which has a regular service to Kupang, could not
\nhandle the volume of mail from Denpasar due to the limited cargo
\nspace in its planes.<\/p>\n
Tenan noted that Merpati operates small planes for its
\nservices between Denpasar and Kupang, and that there was hardly
\nany cargo space available for mail.<\/p>\n
He added that in the past some mail has been transported by
\nships from Denpasar to Kupang.<\/p>\n
Mail bound for East Timor also goes through Kupang, according
