Maid killed in botched robbery<\/p>\n
TANGERANG: Nina, 20, a housemaid who worked in the State
\nSecretariat Housing Complex in Panunggangan Utara subdistrict,
\nPinang district of Tangerang municipality, was killed on Friday
\nmorning during a robbery attempt.<\/p>\n
At the same time as the victim was being taken to Tangerang
\nGeneral Hospital morgue, the suspect, Eko Priyadi, 20, was rushed
\nto the emergency unit at the same hospital after he was attacked
\nby local residents.<\/p>\n
Police chief of detectives Adj. Kustanto said the suspect, a
\ngarbage man who lives in the complex, arrived at the house of
\nNina's employers at 10:30 a.m. and asked where her employers
\nwere.<\/p>\n
Nina told him that the lady of the house, Titin Sumiarti, was
\nstill teaching at state Senior High School 1 in Tangerang and
\nher husband Wawan Gunawan was still working at the State
\nSecretariat in Jakarta.<\/p>\n
Eko then reportedly pulled out a machete and demanded that
\nNina show him where her employers kept their jewelry.<\/p>\n
Nina refused and was hit on the head with the machete and
\ndragged upstairs.<\/p>\n
Gita, 14, the daughter of Titin and Wawan, who was in her bed
\nroom and witnessed the incident. She locked her room, jumped out
\nthe window and sought help.<\/p>\n
Local residents soon arrived and attacked Eko, but Nina's life
\ncould not be saved.<\/p>\n
The suspect told the police that he wanted to rob the house
\nbecause he needed money to marry a woman in his village in
