        "content": "<p>Mahdi shot but  remains at large<\/p>\n<p>PALU, Central Sulawesi: Mahdi, a little-known Islamic sect<br>\nleader, was shot in the leg during last week's deadly clash that<br>\nkilled five people, and may now be hiding on Mount Panggero in<br>\nDonggala regency, Central Sulawesi, his followers told police on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>Since the Oct. 25 clash that killed three officers and two sect<br>\nfollowers, police have intensified the manhunt for Mahdi by combing<br>\nhis hideouts in a mountainous area near Palu, but to no avail.<\/p>\n<p>Chief of the sect's armed force, Arifin alias Lagu, said the<br>\ngunshot wound may have prevented Mahdi from escaping farther than<br>\nthe mountain.<\/p>\n<p>Lagu, who was arrested in Powelua village in Banawa district,<br>\nDonggala, admitted to killing First Brig.
