        "content": "<p>Mahathir points to RI disparity<\/p>\n<p>SINGAPORE (Reuters): Malaysian Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad<br>\nsaid there was no comparison between the economic situation in<br>\nIndonesia and his country.<\/p>\n<p>Mahathir said Malaysia did not have the same scale of overseas<br>\ndebts as Indonesia and his country had ensured that the<br>\ndevelopment of indigenous people kept up with residents of<br>\nChinese origin.<\/p>\n<p>\"In Indonesia they didn't do that, that is why the Indonesians<br>\nattack the Chinese,\" he told the BBC World Service in a radio<br>\ninterview on Monday night in response to a question about the<br>\nsituation in the two countries.<\/p>\n<p>\"In Malaysia you don't find racial problems during these times<br>\nso we are not like Indonesia at all.\" He said the two political<br>\nsystems were quite different and Indonesia did need political<br>\nreform.<\/p>",
