        "content": "<p>Dompet Dhuafa has launched the \u2018Kebun Pangan Madaya\u2019 programme at the\nPesantren Tahfiz Green Lido (PTGL) in Sukabumi, West Java. The programme\nis a community empowerment movement that encourages the use of\nresidential land, office yards, community gardens, and underutilised\nproductive land to become family food sources as well as new economic\nresources. Ahmad Juwaini, Chairman of the Dompet Dhuafa Foundation,\nstated that the foundation continues to expand the benefits of\nempowerment programmes while strengthening food security. He noted that\nPTGL serves as a marker for the rolling out of the Kebun Pangan Madaya\nprogramme, which is also part of Dompet Dhuafa\u2019s 33rd anniversary\ncelebrations. The programme integrates aspects of food security,\nenvironmental preservation, family income enhancement, and agricultural\neducation that can be easily applied by the community. Dompet Dhuafa is\nalso rolling out the programme simultaneously in several cities,\ninvolving volunteers and local residents. Based on 2026 data, productive\ngreen environments initiated by Dompet Dhuafa\u2019s Free Health Services\n(LKC) through the Healthy Community Gardens for Sustainable Food\nSecurity programme have spread across 10 provinces: Aceh, South Sumatra,\nBanten, West Java, Central Java, Central Kalimantan, West Nusa Tenggara,\nEast Nusa Tenggara, South Sulawesi, and Papua. Covering 13 community\ngarden points with 247 household-scale units, the programme has involved\n765 beneficiaries and 124 cadres with 100 percent support for\nsupplementary feeding from local food sources. Challenges in fulfilling\nthe Kebun Pangan Madaya programme include land tenure certainty,\nstakeholder commitment, and environmental factors. The programme\nrequires institutional strengthening and land legality to ensure its\nsustainability. Dedi Yuda, representing the Cicurug Sub-district Head,\nsaid the food garden programme is an initiative supported by the\ngovernment to fulfil nutritional needs and improve the community\u2019s\neconomy. He assessed that the programme aligns with government\nobjectives and must be fully supported, particularly for community-based\neconomic improvement. The launch of the food garden is expected to build\nan empowerment ecosystem involving cultivation assistance, strengthening\nof community institutions, development of agricultural-based businesses,\nand market access. Tusih, a 54-year-old beneficiary of the programme,\nsaid the food garden at PTGL has provided direct benefits for her and\nher family. Beyond direct food fulfilment, she has also gained economic\nbenefits from selling the produce.<\/p>",
