        "content": "<p>Jakarta \u2013 The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) seized\nhigh-powered motorcycles and luxury cars from the residence of former\nDeputy Minister for Immigration and Corrections (Wamen Imipas), Silmy\nKarim. Two Harley Davidson motorcycles, one Ducati, and two Porsche cars\nwere removed from the house on Friday evening, 5 June 2026, after KPK\ninvestigators conducted a search lasting five hours. The motorcycles and\na bicycle were seen being transported on a tow truck. Another tow truck\nalso emerged, though the items it carried were covered with a cloth and\ncould not be identified.<\/p>\n<p>KPK spokesperson Budi Prasetyo stated on Friday, \u2018Following the KPK\u2019s\nnaming of eight individuals as suspects in this investigation yesterday,\nthe team today immediately carried out a search at the house of one of\nthe suspects, identified as SK.\u2019 He added, \u2018The KPK believes that this\nsearch yielded additional evidence required by investigators to help\nbring this case to light.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>Silmy\u2019s legal counsel stated that they respect the ongoing process,\nas long as it is conducted in accordance with the provisions of the\nCriminal Procedure Code. Silmy, along with seven officials within the\nimmigration directorate, was previously detained and named a suspect in\na case of alleged extortion related to immigration processing for\nforeign nationals. The KPK suspects Silmy received money from the\nextortion scheme from his tenure as Director General of Immigration at\nthe Ministry of Law and Human Rights, from January 2023 to October 2024.\nThe case spans the period from 2022 to 2026.<\/p>\n<p>According to the anti-corruption commission, the alleged extortion\ncase originated from the handling of a case concerning the Foreign\nManpower Utilisation Plan (RPTKA) at the Ministry of Manpower, which has\nbeen handled by the KPK since 2025. KPK Chairman Setyo Budiyanto stated\nat the KPK\u2019s Red and White Building in Jakarta on Thursday, 4 June 2026,\n\u2018This closed investigation activity began as a follow-up related to the\nforeign manpower utilisation plan case at the Ministry of Manpower which\nhas been handled by KPK investigators since 2025.\u2019<\/p>",
