Denpasar (ANTARA) - The Head of the Government’s Digital
Transformation Acceleration Committee, Luhut Binsar Panjaitan, is now
targeting the province of Bali in an effort to expand the implementation
of government digital transformation, after its previous success in
Banyuwangi.

“Bali is one of many provinces, but we are focusing on Bali. Here,
there are eight regencies and one city. Previously, Banyuwangi, as you
heard, will be an example model,” said Luhut in Denpasar, Thursday.

He asked the Governor of Bali to deploy regents/mayors to immediately
begin the process through socialisation and data collection so that all
people of Bali can soon have a single digital identity.

This single digital identity will then be used for the digitalisation
of social assistance, so Luhut believes that in the future, the
distribution of social assistance will be more targeted.

“I think this will make Indonesia more transparent, more efficient,
and our target is, I have reported to Mr. President, that it will be
launched nationally in October this year,” he said.

With this, people can independently verify their identities through a
single application, as Indonesia developed PeduliLindungi during the
COVID-19 pandemic.

The Government’s Digital Transformation Acceleration Committee
estimates that the objection period will be completed in Banyuwangi next
week, so that the process can begin in Bali.

Furthermore, it will also be carried out in parallel in other
regencies/cities so that at least by April 2026, they will be included
in the 200 regencies.

“So that at the time of the launch in October 2026, we hope that
there will be around 200 million or 150 million Indonesian people who
have a single digital identity,” said Luhut Binsar Panjaitan.

The Governor of Bali, Wayan Koster, then responded by ensuring that
the regional governments throughout Bali will immediately hold a meeting
and take action in collecting data.

According to him, integrating the many government applications into
one platform is a good thing so that data can be managed better, so he
encourages regents/mayors to start immediately.

“We will follow up by holding a meeting with regents/mayors, everyone
is very happy, and that’s why we want to start preparations by early
March, at the latest by the end of March, and it needs structured
assistance at the village level,” he said.
",
