This\ncondition provides an important momentum to strengthen financial\nliteracy among Gen Z who are very close to digital information flows,\u2019\nhe said. He added that around 20 million people of productive age in\nIndonesia still lack adequate financial literacy, making them vulnerable\nto illegal online lending (pinjol), Ponzi investments, and using\nfinancial services without understanding risks. \u2018Many people readily\npurchase items using paylater services without understanding the\nconsequences, and this often ends up being costly,\u2019 he said. Farid said\nthe festival would not only offer financial education but also\nentertainment so that the public would be more interested in following\nfinancial literacy material. \u2018Various sectors of the financial industry\nwill be involved, from banking, insurance, fintech, to digital assets\nand crypto. The public needs to understand not only opportunities but\nalso risks from the development of digital financial products,\u2019 he said.\nExecutive Director of Secretariat and Institutional Relations of LPS\nNuruddin said the festival concept was deliberately made non-monotonous\nso that educational material would be more easily received by the\nyounger generation. \u2018We want to present educational and literacy\nactivities that are not boring; there will be interactive sessions and\nentertainment interludes,\u2019 he said. He added that the development of\naccess to financial products and services today is progressing very\nrapidly, but literacy skills have not fully kept pace.
