LPG gas sellers came to our house and insisted on replacing
\nour steel gas cylinder with an aluminum one, saying that it is a
\nrequirement of Pertamina, the state-owned oil company.<\/p>\n
As a loyal citizen I rendered the steel cylinder, albeit
\nreluctantly because it cost me Rp 175,000 to begin with, and they
\nreplaced it with an aluminum cylinder.<\/p>\n
When the gas was finished not all suppliers wanted to refill
\nit or replace the cylinder with a steel one.<\/p>\n
I was told later that the quality of aluminum cylinders is
\ndoubtful, while steel ones are very strong and costly. In this
\nrelation I would like to call on Pertamina to inform the public
\nabout the reason for Pertamina's instructions to change the steel
\ncylinders with aluminum ones. The people have been burdened with
\nthe recent price increase of gas, so why should they have to
\nsuffer more from Pertamina's unilateral decision?<\/p>\n
