The Indonesia Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) will officially
open registration for the LPDP Scholarship Phase II of 2026 starting
Tuesday (30/6/2026). Registration will be open until 31 July 2026 and is
available to individuals wishing to pursue master’s or doctoral studies
at home and abroad. LPDP President Director Yon Arsal stated that in
this year’s second phase of selection, LPDP remains focused on funding
to support the human resource development needed for the Golden
Indonesia 2045 vision. “The targets set by the ministry and the
President’s directives are implemented consistently. A minimum of 80% of
scholarship recipients are directed towards STEM fields, namely Science,
Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics,” Yon said during a media
briefing in Jakarta on Monday (29/6/2026). Programmes opened in Phase II
include the Strategic Industry STEM Scholarship and the SHARE (Social,
Humanities, Arts for People, Religious Studies, Economics) Scholarship.
Also available are the Leading University Acceleration Scholarship,
Sports Scholarship, and the National Research and Innovation Talent
scheme via the Doctor by Research pathway. The selection stages for LPDP
Phase II are as follows: Registration: 30 June–31 July 2026;
Administrative selection: 3–27 August 2026; Administrative announcement:
28 August 2026; Appeal period: 29 August–1 September 2026; Appeal
announcement: 22 September 2026; Scholastic Aptitude Test: 27
September–4 October 2026; Test announcement: 9 October 2026; Substantive
selection: 14 October–20 November 2026; Final announcement: 30 November
2026; Lectures begin: January 2027. LPDP Scholarship Director Dwi Larso
announced several relaxed requirements for this year’s second phase
selection. For instance, applicants who have already secured an
Unconditional Letter of Acceptance (LoA) are no longer required to
attach an English proficiency certificate. Meanwhile, for applicants who
do not yet have a LoA, LPDP now accepts additional English proficiency
certificate options from domestic university language centres for
certain applicant categories. Dwi explained that the policy was adopted
to reduce cost barriers for prospective applicants. “We feel that if a
student has already received a LoA, especially from abroad, it means
they have passed the language filter. So we relaxed the language rule.
We also do not want many people to have to pay for expensive language
tests but ultimately not receive the scholarship,” she said. In
addition, LPDP has expanded its list of top universities from the
previous 17 to 31 institutions. This comprises 17 universities open for
all study programmes and an additional 14 universities specifically for
STEM fields.
",
