Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Revolving Fund Management Agency for\nCooperatives (LPDB) is promoting the implementation of a joint financing\nscheme to strengthen capital access for red and white cooperatives.<\/p>\n
LPDB Cooperatives Business Director Oetje Koesoema Prasetia stated\nthat collaboration in financing between LPDB, cooperatives, and banks is\nkey to building an inclusive and sustainable financing system.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn line with the Minister of Cooperatives\u2019 directives, we are\npromoting financing collaboration between LPDB, cooperatives, and banks\nunder the joint financing scheme. This way, village and sub-district\ncooperatives will not only grow but also have resilience and\ncompetitiveness in the long term,\u201d Oetje said in an official statement\nin Jakarta on Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Joint financing is a shared financing scheme by several institutions\nfor the same business or project, thereby increasing funding capacity\nand sharing risks.<\/p>\n
According to Oetje, strengthening partnership-based financing is part\nof the national strategy for cooperative development based on an\necosystem, where larger cooperatives act as drivers for grassroots-level\ncooperatives.<\/p>\n
This model has begun to be implemented through the role of the\nTanaoba Lais Manekat (TLM) Savings and Loan Cooperative in Kupang, East\nNusa Tenggara, which serves as a \u201cbig sibling\u201d to red and white village\ncooperatives in several eastern Indonesian regions.<\/p>\n
Oetje explained that with assets reaching Rp1.2 trillion, the TLM\nCooperative not only carries out savings and loan functions but also\ndiversifies into real sector businesses and provides assistance to\nvillage cooperatives, including through product provision, consignment\nschemes, and strengthening member business capacity.<\/p>\n
Assistance to the Manulai II Red and White Village Cooperative in\nKupang, East Nusa Tenggara, is cited as a concrete example of\npartnership model implementation that is starting to drive increased\neconomic activity while expanding the local cooperative\u2019s turnover\npotential.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono affirmed that\nthe government is promoting the strengthening of village cooperatives\nthrough synergies among various parties, including LPDB and large\ncooperatives.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have instructed LPDB and the Tanaoba Lais Manekat Savings and Loan\nCooperative to jointly assist in developing village and sub-district\nlevel cooperative businesses, from expanding operations to strengthening\ncapital financing,\u201d Ferry said.<\/p>\n
