I agree with the government's ruling that government
\ninstitutions, including state-owned companies, should buy Timor
\ncars. This would show the depth of officials' sense of patriotism
\nand nationalism.<\/p>\n
Indonesia has come under pressure from Japan and other
\nindustrialized countries in the WTO. It is only fair if Indonesia
\nshould do something about it by turning to the national car. If
\nnecessary, Indonesia should stop buying Japanese cars and other
\ncountries' products which have cornered Indonesia.<\/p>\n
I appeal to bureaucrats, officials, the Armed Forces,
\nbusinesspeople and everybody else to show a genuine love for our
\ncountry, and defend the nation's self-sustaining policy. This
\nlove should not only be directed to Timor cars but also to
\nBimantara's and Bakrie's whose products have a 42 percent local
\ncontent.<\/p>\n
In return, the Timor car company should not forget the after
\nsale service business i.e. the need for providing quality spare
\nparts.<\/p>\n
