Never mind that French mineral water has lost its sparkle;
\nthat we'll be buying Spanish bread sticks; that surat-surat
\nPerancis are made better in Australia, England and Indonesia;
\nthat brie and camembert now have a worse aroma than a Jakarta
\ndrain; that romance no longer includes the French kiss; and that
\npreviously unsuspecting Jakartans are now aware of the generally
\ndisgusting standard of French wine being dumped here.<\/p>\n
I sympathize with the Basque separatists, but they're safer in
\nthe Pyrenees than in the South Pacific.<\/p>\n
The Napoleon in French politicians has surfaced again. French
\npeople around the world must be choking on their Moet. Jacques
\nChirac's arrogance is based of course on his acceptance of his
\ninability to solve France's economic malaise. So create a
\ndiversion...an explosive atomic diversion. This politically
\nmotivated stunt is to take pressure off at home by appealing to
\nthe \"Gaulingly\" chauvinistic French temperament.<\/p>\n
However, I trust for most French. This is now confined to
\nfood, fashion and fun; language and literature; art, architecture
\nand other areas of genuine and laudable excellence. Despite the
\nFrench language once being the language of diplomacy, Chirac and
\nhis contemptible currish cronies have lost touch of diplomacy and
\nreality.<\/p>\n
I hope the French Embassy is above defending the indefensible
\nbut in the hapless tradition of the Myanmar delegation, I'd like
\nto see them try.<\/p>\n
