I would <br>\nlike to raise an issue that concerns the common people's <br>\ninterests and needs such as public transportation in Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>I support the busway's new tariff set at Rp 3,500 for a single <br>\ntrip. But the real problem is that the busway has reduced the <br>\nservices of the regular buses, which used to serve shorter <br>\ndistances and hence cost less.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile the Jakarta administration has chalked out a new <br>\nprogram to the effect that the Pulo Gadung-Harmoni route will be <br>\nserved by the busway transportation system. It should be noted, <br>\nhowever, that the users of this new busway facility will be <br>\nmainly people in the low income bracket, government employees and <br>\nschoolchildren. It is not to be compared to the busway between <br>\nBlok M and Kota.<\/p>\n<p>My humble suggestion is that the Jakarta administration pay <br>\ndue attention to the plight of the regular buses which offer a <br>\nless expensive service to the community.<\/p>\n<p>RUSLAN WARUSMY ISKAK<br>\nJakarta<\/p>",
