        "content": "<p>Long-serving badminton coach resigns after 13 years<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): The Badminton Association of Indonesia<br>\nofficially accepted the resignation of men&apos;s singles coach Indra<br>\nGunawan after a meeting on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The association&apos;s executive director Agus Wirahadikusumah said<br>\nafter the meeting that Indra would no longer coach at the<br>\nNational Badminton Center in Cipayung, East Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>Agus said Indra&apos;s resignation was not unusual because he had<br>\nbeen coaching at the center for 13 years.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;Perhaps he has other plans, but he never mentioned anything<br>\nto us,&quot; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Indra joined the center 13 years ago and has guided the Thomas<br>\nCup squad through seven competitions, three of which resulted in<br>\nIndonesian victories.<\/p>\n<p>He did not appear at the center after returning from the<br>\nsuccessful Thomas Cup campaign in Hong Kong in May.<\/p>\n<p>Antara reported that Indra instead traveled to Surakarta,<br>\nCentral Java, and Surabaya in East Java for family reasons.<\/p>\n<p>Agus said the association had never been too dependent on any<br>\none coach. &quot;The most important thing for us is to boost the<br>\ndevelopment of players and coaches. We must also hire coaches who<br>\ncan get along with the players.&quot;<\/p>\n<p>&quot;The association would not object if Indra decided to coach<br>\nabroad.
