Jember, East Java \u2013 The Logawa train on the Purwokerto-Ketapang route\nexperienced a delay of over an hour at several stations due to a\nlocomotive malfunction, resulting in an unscheduled stop at KM 100+1\/2\nin Probolinggo Regency, East Java, on Monday afternoon.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe apologise to all passengers of KA 249C Logawa on the\nPurwokerto-Ketapang route for the travel delay caused by the locomotive\nmalfunction,\u201d said Cahyo Widiantoro, Head of Legal and Public Relations\nat KAI Daop 9 Jember, in Jember on Monday.<\/p>\n
According to him, at 16:48 WIB, the Logawa train experienced a\nlocomotive engine system malfunction while passing through the Bayeman\n(BYM) to Probolinggo (PB) section.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs a result of the malfunction, the Logawa train made an unscheduled\nstop at KM 100+1\/2 for locomotive inspection,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
In response, the operational team promptly conducted a locomotive\ninspection.<\/p>\n
As a safety measure, the train resumed its journey using a rescue\nlocomotive, allowing operations to normalise while prioritising\noperational safety.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe malfunction caused a 65-minute delay upon arrival at Probolinggo\nStation,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He apologised for the inconvenience caused to passengers due to the\nincident, which resulted in delays at multiple stations.<\/p>\n
PT KAI Daop 9 Jember extended its sincerest apologies to all Logawa\ntrain passengers for the travel delays caused by the locomotive\nmalfunction.<\/p>\n
\u201cSafety of rail travel remains our top priority in all operational\nincident management,\u201d Cahyo said.<\/p>\n
As part of their responsibility and apology to passengers, Logawa\ntrain passengers were provided with Service Recovery measures in\naccordance with applicable regulations.<\/p>\n
Cahyo stated that KAI remains committed to maintaining reliable\ninfrastructure and improving passenger services to ensure safe, secure,\nand comfortable rail travel.<\/p>\n
