        "content": "<p>Locals want AIDS sufferers named<\/p>\n<p>PALEMBANG, South Sumatra: The number of people in South Sumatra<br>\ninfected with HIVAIDS has reached alarming levels, prompting<br>\nlocal residents to demand that the sufferers be isolated and<br>\ntheir identities be disclosed.<\/p>\n<p>Local health officials said two more prostitutes in the<br>\nprovince were recently found infected with the deadly disease,<br>\nbringing the number of sufferers to 78 people.<\/p>\n<p>There were only 32 AIDS sufferers listed two years ago, and<br>\nmost of them lived in the city.<\/p>\n<p>Residents in the province urged the authorities to isolate the<br>\nsufferers, mostly prostitutes, and reveal their identities in an<br>\neffort to curb the further spread of the disease.<\/p>\n<p>Tamzil Bermawi, head of the South Sumatra health and Welfare<br>\noffice, however, turned down the demand, saying such a move was<br>\nagainst human rights principles. --JP<\/p>",
