        "content": "<p>Locals attack armed FPI members<\/p>\n<p>JAKARTA (JP): Dozens of local residents at the Pertamina<br>\nhousing complex in Tugu Selatan area, North Jakarta, engaged in a<br>\nbrawl with some 50 members of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI)<br>\non Thursday night after the latter, armed with daggers and<br>\nswords, marched into the complex, a police report said.<\/p>\n<p>Two FPI members were injured during the clash.<\/p>\n<p>The report said the FPI members had marched around the complex<br>\nat about 10:30 p.m. with unclear intentions and had been showing<br>\na hostile attitude while shouting.<\/p>\n<p>The group&apos;s actions drew antipathy from local residents who<br>\nfelt disturbed by the group which has continuously launched<br>\nviolent attacks on several entertainment centers in the capital.<\/p>\n<p>&quot;A clash then occurred after the locals threw rocks at FPI<br>\nmembers,&quot; the report said, adding that the locals had armed<br>\nthemselves with wooden sticks to attack the FPI members.<\/p>\n<p>None of the FPI&apos;s executives were available for comment on the<br>\nattack on Friday, while an FPI member who was contacted by The<br>\nJakarta Post refused to give any statement about the incident.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier on Thursday, National Police spokesman Brig. Gen.<br>\nSaleh Saaf said the police would no longer tolerate FPI&apos;s<br>\nunlawful actions such as raiding entertainment centers, damaging<br>\nthe premises and harming their patrons.
