Local TV programs vie for awards<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): ANteve's news program Cakrawala, sports program
\nMajalah Olahraga and presenter Monica Desideria have been
\nnominated for this year's Asian Television Awards.<\/p>\n
Indosiar's music program Gebyar BCA, variety show Pesta Ceria
\n(Happy Party) and special music program Satu Jam Bersama Broery
\nMarantika (One Hour With Broery Marantika) have been nominated as
\nwell.<\/p>\n
Another Indonesian nominee is MTV's Jamie Aditya, whose
\nprogram is broadcast here by ANteve.<\/p>\n
Other countries participating in the awards show include
\nSingapore, the Philippines, Hong Kong and India. With three
\nnominations in 23 categories, the awards' criteria include
\noriginality of idea and concept as well as minimal production
\nvalue and use of one's own crew.<\/p>\n
The winners will be announced Dec. 10,<\/p>\n
Cakrawala won last year's award for best news program.
\nANteve's presenter Sonny Tulung was nominated but did not win.<\/p>\n
The awards show, an annual nonprofit event to encourage
\ncreative television talent in Asia, is organized by Television
\nAsia, Asia's leading business magazine for the TV programing
