Local school triumphs at cricket tourney<\/p>\n
Maybe, just maybe, cricket's next world beater bearing the
\nname Imran will come from these parts.<\/p>\n
Or perhaps he will be called Dede.<\/p>\n
The student from Cimahi III Klari elementary school in
\nKarawang, West Java, stepped up to bat,
\nclosely watched by fielder Sam Seward from the No Fear club of
\nthe British International School (BIS), on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The Cimahi team won the match, and another local team from
\nCiomas, West Java, took the top honors at an inter-school
\ntournament in Jakarta on Saturday.<\/p>\n
The competition, held at BIS in Bintaro, South Jakarta, is
\nbelieved to be the first between teams of local students and
\nthose from international schools, the Jakarta Cricket Association
\nsaid.<\/p>\n
The local boys are part of a development program of the
\nIndonesian Cricket Foundation (ICF) focused on getting young
\nIndonesians playing the sport.<\/p>\n
Four local coaches -- three in Bali and one in Jakarta --
\nvisit schools to educate teachers and students about the game.
\nWith an estimated 10,000 local youngsters introduced to the sport
\nin the five years since the ICF's founding, the International
\nCricket Council says the country has the fastest growth in the
