The 2026 Batch II Regional Sulawesi Achievement Awards for Local\nGovernments was held this evening. The Deputy Editor-in-Chief of\ndetikcom, Fajar Pratama, stated that this event is intended to provide\nspace for local governments to innovate in meeting the needs of the\npeople.<\/p>\n
The event took place at the Claro Hotel, Makassar, on Friday\n(18\/9\/2026). Attendees included the Minister of Home Affairs, Tito\nKarnavian, and the Coordinating Minister for Political and Security\nAffairs, Djamari Chaniago. Also present were the Governor of South\nSulawesi, Andi Sudirman Sulaiman, and a member of Commission II of the\nIndonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), Taufan Pawe.<\/p>\n

Fajar emphasised that the good work of local governments deserves\nappreciation. It is hoped that innovation programmes and the\nprioritisation of the nation\u2019s youth will continue.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause the good work of local governments also deserves to be a\nnews headline. When children gain wider access to education, that is\nnews. When the community receives increasingly better healthcare\nservices, that is news,\u201d said Fajar.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen waste is managed and the environment becomes more beautiful,\nthat is also news. And when the community gains access to decent housing\nthrough the 3 Million Houses Programme, that is certainly an important\nstory for the public to know,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
He noted that access to education, healthcare services, waste\nmanagement, and access to decent housing are all related to daily life.\nTherefore, detikcom encourages local governments to intensify innovation\nprogrammes so that the people can directly benefit from them.<\/p>\n
\u201cThese four issues may sound like government matters. But for the\ncommunity, they are all part of daily life. These four areas are what\nform the basis of today\u2019s appreciation for the regional heads and local\ngovernment officials across Sulawesi who are receiving recognition\ntoday,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
