Local 'Cosmopolitan' to appear soon<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): World renowned women's magazine Cosmopolitan is
\nto launch its Indonesian version this month in cooperation with
\nHigina, a defunct local health magazine.<\/p>\n
Higina Kosmopolitan, as the new monthly is called, will not
\nonly follow the trend set by the original, New York, magazine,
\nbut will also carry local stories to suit the needs of Indonesian
\nreaders.<\/p>\n
It will include articles on human relationships and the
\nlifestyles of "Cosmopolitan" people.<\/p>\n
"The magazine is aimed at those between 20 and 40 years-old of
\nboth sexes," Managing Editor Sari Narulita told reporters.<\/p>\n
Despite this, the Indonesian edition will adopt the
\nCosmopolitan's motto of Fun, Fearless, Female, and is aimed
\nchiefly at women, both single and married, in a career or not.<\/p>\n
"One thing that distinguishes her (the reader) from other
\nwomen is that she has commitment, self-confidence and courage to
\nachieve a better life, whether in her career or personal life,"
\npublisher PT Higina Alhadin said in a statement.<\/p>\n
Cosmopolitan, founded 32 years ago, is now published in 32
\ncountries and 17 languages. Its worldwide readership exceeds 30
\nmillion people.<\/p>\n
Higina will print 100,000 copies of the inaugural edition of
\nthe 148-page Kosmopolitan, which will hit the streets on Aug. 22.<\/p>\n
Helen Gurley Brown, chief editor of Cosmopolitan
\nInternational, will be present at the launching ceremony at the
\nGrand Hyatt Hotel.<\/p>\n
The magazine's management team includes Sasongko Sudarjo
\n(General Manager), Dian N. Sudarjo (Executive Director), Sutikno
\nSudarjo (General Commissioner), Hendra Setyawan (Business
