Live ammo found at Islamiyah school<\/p>\n

Two construction workers renovating the Islamiyah Foundation
\nschool building in Ciputat, Tangerang, found 98 live bullets in
\nthe ceiling on Wednesday afternoon.<\/p>\n
The workers, Mukodim and Siswanto, discovered a moldy military
\nbackpack, along with several children's books, behind a ceiling
\npanel in a teachers' lounge. When they opened the backpack, they
\nfound the bullets inside.<\/p>\n
Sugito, the school's security guard, reported the discovery to
\nthe Ciputat Police on Thursday.<\/p>\n
\"We were busy distributing the students' grade cards. That's
\nwhy we didn't report it until today,\" he said.<\/p>\n
A police report on the incident said the bullets were for .45
\nand .22 caliber FN pistols.<\/p>\n
Ciputat Police chief Adj. Comr. Zulpan H. Sik declined to
\ncomment on the matter when contacted through his cellular phone.<\/p>\n
The discovery shocked teachers at the school, some of whom
\nhave been working in the room for five years.<\/p>\n
\"I started to shake when I heard about the bullets, thinking
\nthat they were above our heads all this time. I was like, 'Oh my
\nGod,'\" Tin Martini, head of the education department at the
\nfoundation, said on Thursday.<\/p>\n
\"Before the teachers began to use this room, it was a
\nclassroom for junior high school students,\" she said.<\/p>\n
The Islamiyah Foundation -- which comprises Islamic junior
\nhigh schools and high schools, public junior high schools and
\nhigh schools, and an economics college -- began the renovation
\nwork on Dec. 29.<\/p>\n
About 2,500 students attend classes at the building every day.<\/p>\n
\"The foundation bought this building in 1998 from a family
\nthat used to own a bakery. People in the neighborhood said the
\nfather of the owner was a member of the military police. Maybe
\nthe bullets belonged to the family,\" Sugito said.<\/p>",
