The name of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) lecturer Dr.\u00a0Cahyaningrum\nDewojati has been mentioned as an advisor to the Little Aresha Daycare\nFoundation. Regarding this matter, the university has spoken out.<\/p>\n
UGM spokesperson I Made Andi Arsana confirmed that Cahyaningrum is an\nactive lecturer at the university. However, he emphasised that her\ninvolvement in managing the daycare is in her personal capacity, not\nrepresenting the institution.<\/p>\n
\u201cRegarding the information stating that the advisor to the Little\nAresha Daycare Foundation in Yogyakarta is one of our university\u2019s\nlecturers, we can confirm that the individual is indeed an active\nlecturer involved in managing the daycare in a personal capacity,\u201d said\nMade Andi in a written statement received by reporters on Monday\n(27\/4\/2026).<\/p>\n
UGM also expressed concern over the alleged violence occurring in the\nLittle Aresha Daycare environment. The university stated its empathy for\nthe survivors, particularly the children, and the affected families.<\/p>\n

Made Andi emphasised that, as an institution, UGM has no relationship\nwhatsoever with the Little Aresha Daycare Foundation in Yogyakarta. The\nuniversity also complies with regulations and fully respects and\nsupports the ongoing legal process.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe also uphold the principle of objectivity and commitment to child\nprotection. In line with that, we are closely monitoring the\ndevelopments of this case and are prepared to take follow-up actions\nwithin UGM\u2019s capacity based on applicable provisions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The university will continue to monitor the case developments and is\nready to take further steps in accordance with applicable\nprovisions.<\/p>\n

Previously, police named 13 individuals as suspects in the case of\nalleged inhumane treatment at a daycare in Yogyakarta City. The suspects\nwere named following a case review held at the Yogyakarta Police\nResort.<\/p>\n
