        "content": "<p>Minister of Housing and Residential Areas (PKP) Maruarar Sirait has\nrevealed that donated land in the Meikarta area, Bekasi Regency, West\nJava, will be utilised for the construction of decent and affordable\nhousing for the public. \u201cThe Head of the Danantara Investment Management\nAgency (BPI), Mr Rosan Roeslani, and the Head of the SOE Management\nAgency (BP BUMN), Mr Dony Oskaria, will later support the utilisation of\nthis land in accordance with the President\u2019s directive, which is to\nprovide decent and affordable housing for the Indonesian people,\u201d\nMaruarar stated in Jakarta on Monday (22\/6\/2026).<\/p>\n<p>Maruarar, familiarly known as Ara, also disclosed that the land grant\nis ready to be officially handed over to the state. \u201cOn Monday\n(29\/6\/2026), there will be an official handover ceremony of the land\nfrom Lippo Group to the state,\u201d he said. He added that the handover\nprocess will take place at the Danantara Building in Jakarta.<\/p>\n<p>On the same occasion, Head of the Danantara Investment Management\nAgency (BPI) Rosan Roeslani expressed hope that the development of\ndecent and affordable housing in the area would help low-income\ncommunities obtain adequate shelter. \u201cThis is very important because it\nprovides great benefits, especially for low-income communities, so they\ncan obtain their right to a decent and good place to live. Decent\nhousing is indeed a right of the people,\u201d Rosan stated.<\/p>\n<p>For context, Maruarar emphasised that the government continues to\nencourage various innovations in providing affordable vertical housing,\nparticularly in Jakarta\u2019s buffer zones. The government wants low-income\ncommunities to have access to decent, affordable housing close to\ncentres of economic activity and workplaces. According to him, the\nconstruction of subsidised flats (rusun) is an important solution to\naddress the housing backlog as well as land limitations in urban areas.\nVertical housing such as subsidised flats is the solution of the future,\nespecially in areas with high housing demand and continuously rising\nland prices.<\/p>",
