Licenses given to 667 companies<\/p>\n
JAKARTA (JP): The city administration has certified that 677
\ncompanies in the capital are eligible to bid for construction
\nprojects being tendered this year.<\/p>\n
Chairman of the City Certification Joint Committee (PBSP)
\nPungky Bambang Purwadi said, as quoted by Antara on Thursday, the
\ncompanies were selected from a total of 1,859 firms applying for
\nthe license.<\/p>\n
According to Pungky, who is also the chairman of Jakarta's
\nIndonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), the license
\nwas needed by a company to bid for any project financed through
\nthe city budget.<\/p>\n
He said the company certification replaced the Partnership
\nList Sign (TDR), which expired on Jan. 1.<\/p>\n
Of the 677 companies which qualified, 361 are small-scale, 91
\nmiddle-scale, with the rest classified as first class.<\/p>\n
Pungky expected all sides, especially the city institutions,
\nto provide more opportunities for the small and middle-scale
\nenterprises, as well as cooperatives, to join the bid.<\/p>\n
He also suggested that the eligible companies conduct fair and
